Learning My Name

In the past two weeks, Elizabeth has undertaken the daunting task of saying her name. (Honestly, does it get much harder than Elizabeth?) She has now declared herself "Babeth." We'll see how long that variation sticks, but it's pretty cute!

I wanted to include this picture of Elizabeth at a hula party at daycare. The look on her face is priceless. Let's just say that each time I bring the hula skirt out, she says, "no."

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! Elizabeth started the day by finding her Easter basket and dying Easter eggs. This was definitely an adventure with a 17 month old! Thankfully the green dye came off her hands after a long bath! She then proceeded to have a temper tantrum during church, which got her out of sitting still. (Smart girl!) We celebrated the holiday at the Underbakke's. Elizabeth got to play with cousins JJ, Jenna, and Kylie. As the girls get older, they are more and more entertained by each other. We can't wait until they are old enough to go in the other room and play for hours...we need a break! Finally, no Easter is complete without a ride on the tractor. Daddy and Elizabeth took the B out for a drive, and Elizabeth kept saying "more, more!" Farm girl at heart?!

Big Girl

Big news at the Grant household- Elizabeth used the potty for the first time. Even though we are far from potty training, it's nice to know that there is an end of diapers in sight. After pooping on the potty, Elizabeth continued to say "big girl" over and over. She was quite proud of her accomplishment. (Mommy and Daddy hope this is a continuing trend.)

Kids Can Be Funny

Since gracing this world with her presence, Elizabeth has not been shy to assert her opinion. Now with the onset of language, she has words to do so. Last night Josh and I were giving Elizabeth a bath. I started to fill up the bucket to wash her hair. She looked at me and said, "Not yet Mommy." The little stinker definitely got her point across! I was too shocked that she put this complete thought together that I had to laugh. (She also succeeded in not getting her hair washed.)

Road Traveler

This weekend we traveled up north to visit the Senich's. Elizabeth had a great time playing with everyone, and we loved having help. Grandma Kathy insisted that we leave Elizabeth with them to get out of the house because "it's more fun when it's just us." (This is a direct quote.) So we went out to Pizza Ranch with Katie and Chris, went shopping at the cosmopolitan Irongate Mall, and had conversations that consisted of complete thoughts. Wow, we definitely could get used to this- when can we move in?

Also, we celebrated Benjamin's 2nd birthday. He was the world's cutest birthday boy- we love you!The ball pit and dinosaur were Elizabeth's favorite. What grandma doesn't have a lifesized dinosaur in their living room?!
