Proof!

Here's the proof that our daughter is a little stinker! Sam was home with Elizabeth, and the usual nap routine ensued. Within minutes, Elizabeth was flipped over, pushing her legs between the bars of the crib in a desperate attempt to free herself. Sam thought she'd record this memory, so they could laugh about it one day when Elizabeth actually started to nap at home. (Will that day ever come?!) It's going to be a long summer at home for Elizabeth and Daddy!

The True Face of Elizabeth

This picture really sums up Elizabeth. Josh and I wanted to take a picturesque photo of Elizabeth in our backyard with all the beautiful blooming flowers. Unfortunately, our little fairy had a different agenda- to eat all the plants! So much for the perfect photo.

In other fun news, Elizabeth can get up on her hands and knees. Now it's just a matter of time before she figures out how to crawl. Josh and I are enjoying our last days of peace!

Total Pain

For those of you who haven't talked to me recently, I am going crazy by my daughter's sleeping habits. At daycare, Elizabeth will sleep for 3-4 hours most days, and she does this without a fight. However, when Elizabeth is home with me on Thursdays, she converts to a crazy, sleep-deprived maniac. Today her annoying habit has reached an all time high. When I knew she was tired today, I put her in her crib, gave her a Nuk, and left the room. After about 5 minutes (because she wants to tempt me) she flipped over onto her belly and pushed herself backwards until her chubby legs got stuck between the bars of the crib. What a pain in the butt!

Grrr...I make my mom mad!

Happy Anniversary!

We celebrated our second anniversary today! It's been a very busy two years of married life with a move across the United States, the purchase of a new home, new jobs for both of us, and now a new baby. We're planning to take it easy for the next couple of years!

We celebrated by having dinner delivered, which meant that we not only didn't have to cook but were able to enjoy a warm meal. Elizabeth did participate in the mealtime by requesting to be held, but that's to be expected. Here's to many more to come.

Adventures in Vegetables

Tonight Elizabeth had her first taste of vegetables. Her expression upon getting a spoonful of sweet potatoes was priceless. It was as if she wanted to say, "Mom, you've done something seriously wrong with my rice cereal!" By the end, she was smiling and seemed to like it, which didn't surprise us- we're pretty certain that she would eat anything!

Half way to One

Elizabeth is six months old today! She is celebrating by staying home with her mom. They are going to enjoy the beautiful weather and be lazy all day.

Congrats Courtney!

Today is a big day for Courtney- she graduates from the nurse practitioner program. The whole family (minus the Grants) will be heading to Duluth to celebrate her accomplishments. Elizabeth wanted to tell her how proud she was of her, so she had her mom make this sign. (She even tasted it!) Congrats Courtney- we're so proud of you.

San Antonio

Elizabeth and Sam at the Alamo

Don't I look cute on the airplane?

We have another flight?!

I love playing in the hotel room with Grandma

Riding my first horse in Texas

We Survived!

Elizabeth and Sam are home from their week-long trip to San Antonio. The girls made it thanks to the awesome help from Grandpa Matt and Grandma Kathy. Elizabeth did as well as an active six month old baby could do on long flights. Let's just say that every passenger on the plane got a good dose of birth control (and Sam has decided that Elizabeth will be an only child!) We really wish that the plane could have been filled with teenage boys and girls, as it would have been the best message to never have sex!

All and all, Elizabeth had a great trip to San Antonio. She played in the hotel, enjoyed hot weather, and went for stroller rides to great places like the Alamo. Grandma Kathy joined two days late because she had food poisoning, so Grandpa Matt wins the gold grandparent award! (Thanks Dad!)

Sam loved the CYFAR conference and got great resources for her work.

More pictures to come...

Mmm...

Yummy! Elizabeth can't wait to start eating solid foods. Unfortunately, hamburgers aren't part of her diet for quiet some time. Looks like she'll have to continue to drool over her parent's food.

Elizabeth and Sam are off for San Antonio on Monday with Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Matt. They're looking forward to warm weather and a much needed vacation. We'll post pictures of her first plane ride next week.
