Lost tooth

On Sunday Elizabeth lost her first tooth. It had been wiggling for days but she wouldn't let us pull it. I took her into the bathroom to brush teeth for the night when we realized the tooth wasn't there. She probably ate it with her nighttime snack! 

The giggles of excitement were beyond cute. 

Gotta love my little jack o lantern.

The world has been flipped on our heads, but we are so proud to welcome Hannah Lee. She made her grand entrance on April 28 at 10:10. She weighed in at 8 lbs and 3 oz and 20 inches. 

She is baby perfection, and we all love her. 

Dear baby Grant,

The doctors have given you one more week to make your grand arrival. As a note, you don't need to use all of those days. Time to get going.

Tee Ball 101

We bought a bat and some wiffle balls for the kids for an Easter basket present. Too cheap to buy the overpriced tees they sell, I picked up a 2 ft piece of PVC pipe at the local big box warehouse.

Both have gotten into it, and so far see doing great at sharing. I intentionally bought a package that had 3 red balls and 3 blue calls, so that helps. They like me to hit, so then it's still clean to share with each getting a red and blue ball. The kids are very flattering, as they're very impressed with my hitting skills. Maybe we won't be going to a Twins game this summer.

Last night Elizabeth went in to get pajamas on as mom said she could have 30 minutes to watch her new Cinderella movie. Elizabeth came to get Adam, who was still playing with me outside, begging him to come watch with her.

E: "Adam, come in and watch Cinderella with me!"
A: "No, I want to keep playing baseball with dad. "
E: "But it's a really good movie!"
A: "Well, does it have boys in it?"
E: "Oh yes... It has 2! It has Prince Charming and the Coachman!"
A: (thinks) "Well, that's not enough!"

(He came in after one more round at bat.)

Big sibling class

On Wednesday, I took the kids to a big brother/big sister class. Adam reported that the goldfish crackers and water were the best. Elizabeth thought wrapping her baby in a blanket and moving the hospital bed up and down was the best.
Hands down they were the most talkative members of the class.

Reflections on birth

There is lots of baby talk at our house. Tonight Adam was inquiring about how the baby was getting out of my body. I explained again, and he looked at me and said so seriously, "Mom, that baby is too big to come out of there."

I totally agree.

A little more winter

Yesterday I took Elizabeth out snowshoeing. My mom asked if I was too pregnant to go and I reminded her that I was going with a 5 year old. We would walk 10-15 steps and Elizabeth would go down into the snow bank to eat snow and emerge giggling. This continued for 40 minutes, so we were a good team. It was a beautiful day, and her giggles made it so much fun.

Wrestling man

This weekend we cheered for Josh's team during team sections. It's so funny to see how each child approaches wrestling. Elizabeth looked at me after 20 minutes and asked if it was almost done. I replied, "Sweetie, we have years of this!" (Keep in mind this is the child that will sit through 2 hour plays and ballets.)

Adam, on the other hand, was in his glory. He watched captivated and would have stayed for the whole day. (A bit of popcorn at the beginning seals the deal.)

Happy Valentine's Day!

There was much hype and excitement leading up to Valentine's Day this year. Celebrating with two preschoolers was beyond fun for me. We decorated valentine's, made mailboxes for our cards, and decorated sugar cookies.

Face painting

Elizabeth loves the Children's museum. They have a back room with art supplies and right now face painting. She is in heaven and I'm happy that I don't have clean up.

For the record...

Adam went a whole weekend without a temper tantrum. I want to cheer from the rooftops.
