6 Months Old

Yesterday Adam celebrated 6 months!

Here's what he's up to:

-trying new foods. Right now it's rice cereal, bananas, and sweet potatoes. He loves big chunks of bananas.
- smiling at anyone who smiles back.
- sitting without support.
- playing with his big sister and all his friends at daycare.
- being a poop about nursing.
- loving his mommy.
- making lots of noises.
- waking mom up once per night.

We've survived the first half of the year. More fun to come!

New line

The queen of sass has a new line.

This morning Elizabeth was screwing around brushing her teeth. I started to tell her how she should be doing it. She looked at me and said, "I don't need your help."

Nice.

Randomness

Random photos from the Grant's Adam is now steady while sitting. This morning I got my lunch ready and packed everyone's bags while he played in the kitchen. It was so liberating! (By the way, can he get any cuter?!)

Adam thinks that his mom is the best thing in the world.

Elizabeth created a new game this week- swimming pool. She dresses Dumbo in a life vest and penguin in a swimsuit. When she's playing in the basement, she also has blow-up water toys that they all sit in. It is really funny to watch, and mom is a good sport and swims along.

Two and a Half!

Elizabeth is two and a half years old today! Where did the time go?! Elizabeth is growing into a smart, sassy, strong-willed little girl. Here's what she's up to at 2.5.

- Talking like a 15 year old. Her verbal skills are excellent- which definitely has it's perks and drawbacks!
- Potty trained (most of the time)
- Experiencing the terrible twos- fluctuating between the sweet, exploratory two year old and the emotional unstable tyrant
- Loves playing with her stuffed penguin and Dumbo
- Will do almost anything to watch a little bit of Dumbo in the evening
- Loves reading books. She has way too many to have a favorite.
- Loves music and singing songs. Right now "Baby Beluga" is on repeat in our car...this gets to be a little old on our trips to Grandma's
- Learning letters at Jackie's. Can identify almost all of the uppercase letters if she's paying attention.
- Counting to 12...and then picks random numbers from 13 to 20.
- Enjoys art projects and the water table at Jackie's
- Hates going to bed or taking naps

Second tooth

Tooth #2 broke through on Monday. Both are bottom teeth, and the top are close. (And for those who are curious, yes he has bit me.)

We also started sleep training last night. Adam wakes up every two hours, cries for 10-15 minutes and goes back to sleep. It's exhausting. Mom retreated to the living room couch to get away from the cries and came back to the bedroom hours later to find Adam curled up in bed with Dad. So much for getting him to sleep on his own!

First Tooth

Today Adam's first tooth finally pushed through the gums. We have been watching the agonizing process of Adam's top teeth coming in, but it was his bottom front tooth that won the race.

Nothing says happy mother's day like a new tooth to bite with. Golly Adam, you sure know how to spoil your mom.
